Sean Lie's Professional and Academic Life

I am currently a design engineer in the microprocessor architecture group at AMD in California. My main research interest is high-performance computer architecture. I have a BS and MEng degree in electrical engineering and computer science from MIT.

I completed my MEng degree at the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. My thesis, titled Hardware Support for Unbounded Transactional Memory, was completed under my advisor Krste Asanovic of the SCALE research group.

I received my BS degree from the department of EECS at MIT. As an undergraduate, I was an organizer of 6.270, an annual autonomous robotics competition. I also worked at the MIT Media Laboratory on the DiaBetNet project aimed at helping children with diabetes.

I went to high school at Woburn C.I. in Toronto. I was a member of the FIRST Woburn Robotics team and the Programming Enrichment Group.
